Cover art by Tony Finlayson depicts an African family receiving a bowl of Nestle powdered formula from a ship (a reference to the controversial marketing of infant formula to women in the Third World who lacked access to clean water).

The African American author, born Craig Gooding, took the name Ram Bhaghat (spelling later changed to Bhagat) after becoming a disciple of the yoga teacher and microbiology professor Janeshwar Upadhyay. His poetry addresses racism, junk food, environmental destruction, and gun violence. The author went on to establish the Drums No Guns percussion ensemble.
