Biography of Yamada Waka, who was kidnapped and sent from Japan to Seattle to work at a brothel in 1897. After escape and conversion to Christianity in San Francisco, she became a well-known women's rights activist. An English translation was published as "The story of Yamada Waka: from prostitute to feminist pioneer."
