Call for Justice [three issues]

Seattle, WA: The Committee, 1989. Three issues of the 8.5x11 inch newsletter, folded for mailing, minor wear. Issue present are March, October, and December 1989; 4, 6, and 4 pages respectively.

In 1981 Silme Domingo, a KDP organizer and union reform activist in ILWU Local 37, was assassinated in Seattle together with fellow union activist Gene Viernes. The Committee suspected that the two men had been targeted both for their union militancy and for their anti-Marcos activism. These newsletters report on legal efforts to find the Marcos regime guilty of ordering the killings. In 1990 the former ILWU Local 37 President, Tony Baruso was tried and convicted of organizing the assassination, allegedly at the behest of Ferdinand Marcos, who was ordered to pay the families $15 million.
