Dusseldorf-Koln: Eugen Diederichs Verlag, 1963-7. Later printing, black letter, complete set, unobtrusively ex-library. Hardbound, white cloth spines titled black over matched 8x5.5 inch textured apicot boards, decorated with period vignettes. Slightest shelfwear, a clean sound set which was once rubber-stamped "English Dept. Library" in the upper corner of each pastedown, then de-accessioned with the wavy line of an inkstick. Not perhaps as crude as this may sound, no designated institution, no other marks anywhere. Condition is likewise blandly good: a minutely turned corner-tip, a mild wrinkle to a top rim, are the only touches of wear we see. Conclusion: the saga literature gotten up very nicely and Germanically.
