Topelius, Zachris [aka Zacharias]

Stockholm: Albert Bonniers Forlag, n.d. 397p., a handsome little period piece in nice shape. Hardbound, 7.5x5 inch green cloth boards titled and extensively decorated in bright gilt, all edges tinted red. Upper cover has lost a line of cloth margin to mouse-nibble (not immediately apparent), the decorated endsheets are mildly toned, an otherwise sound, very good copy, probably unhandled except for the mouse and this cataloguer. Almost surely the first edition, looks to be of the era.

Topelius, 1808-1898, poet, historian, esotericist and polymath, was a Finn who wrote much of Finnish history --but in Swedish.
