Cat.No: 261537 Darwin. Digain Williams.

Darwin

San Diego: Frye & Smith, Printers (for the author), 1922. Pamphlet. 31p., conservative presswork on alkaline paperstock, enclosed in 8x5 inch textured grey wraps titled dark grey, staple-fastened. Poetry in quattrains. Respectable secondstring fine press design & materials, but rather edgeworn with creasings and short tears to both covers, dog-earing within. Front free endsheet bears a vigorous presentation, signed by the poet, in pencil.

The usual encomium of our evolutionist tends to the 'he has torn the biblical blindfold from our eyes' but the praise is reversed: Darwin has 'put a telescope to our eyes', praise that segues into divine grandiosity.
