A Challenge to Economists

London: P.S. King & Son, Ltd., 1918. Hardcover. 44p., publisher's ads appended, small hardbound printed in a large font. First edition in 6.5x4 inch green cloth boards cover-titled black; pastedown bears a neat ownership label, endsheets and titlepage and both free endsheets an owner's smeared rubberstamp, a very good well-preserved copy. From p.27: "in accepting the theories of Karl Marx, Stanley Jevons, etc., a nation commits economic suicide." Hecht distinguishes labour value from "utility value", see p.12.

Publisher King & Son's ads reveal an interest in Irish rural reconstruction, war finance, race "regeneration," problems confronting Russia, gold prices and the witwatersrand, League of Nations.
