"The present text is the first showing of a new type.." [technicalities omitted].. this "advance specimen has been printed in an edition of 600 copies from matrices cut by the Monotyope Corporation, London, who will later offer the matrices of the present size, 14 point, for sale under the designation of Series 603, with the title 'Octavian'." Farther on we find that the booklet in hand "is an extract from the introduction to The Typographical Book by Stanley Morison.."
