Girard, KS: Haldeman-Julius Publications, 1927 - 1929. Forty volumes, according to OCLC/Firstsearch a complete run of the series, all by McCabe. Most of the booklets are 64 pages, all are 6.25x8.5 inches, paper is browned on all the volumes, vol. 16, the cover is chipped and partly detached, over all in good condition. These are not first printings, many issues, including volume 1 contain an ad for all 40 titles.

A series where McCabe explains the universe, evolution, biology, history, art & science from the beginning. Final volume is "Important facts about the progress of science." McCabe was a former priest who became an atheist and a leading proponent of freethought & popular science. Haldeman-Julius, a former writer at the Appeal to Reason, took over the Appeal to Reason press in 1919.
