np: Corvus Distribution, [2009-2010]. Pamphlet. 13p., stapled wraps, 5.5 x 8.5 inches, illus., lightly worn else very good condition. Not dated, but Corvus Distribution was founded in 2009 and lists this pamphlet as one of its first 150 publications in a list from 2010. Utopian Urbanisms.

Reprint of Hastings's article (originally printed in "Physical Culture" in 1910) on Roadtown, Edgar Chambless's utopian concept of a city laid out along rail lines, with a farm plot adjacent to each dwelling, and direct access to underground transit. The dirt and distraction of above-ground roads would become a thing of the past, as would the exploitation and corruption of companies involved in transportation-related industries. Housework and cooking would be reorganized along cooperative lines, and factory work would be decentralized into cottage industries whose products could be transported, again, through the rail lines directly underground.
