Cat.No: 248771 To the editors, Hammer & Steel. "A group of Oberlin students"

To the editors, Hammer & Steel...

Mattapan, MA: Hammer & Steel, 1967. Four-panel leaflet, vertical crease, some toning and wear, publishing a message to the editors from a group of students at Oberlin in October 1967.

Homer Chase, a Maoist, created Hammer and Steel under the organizational name of the New England Party of Labor. The Oberlin students here ask H&S to reprint their statement for broad distribution. It calls on Oberlin students to follow the tradition of John Brown, who had been the son of a college trustee, by supporting self-determination for the Black Belt.
