The Story of the Middle Ages [set title, consisting of:] The Birth of the Middle Ages 395-814 by H. St. L.B. Moss [with] The Making of the Middle Ages by R.W. London: The Folio Society, 1999. Hardcover. Respectively xxix, 321, xvi, 284, xii, 216, xvi + 7(maps), 443, x, 341p., matching hardbound reprints in lavish Folio style decorated in gilt and colors (each volume slightly different), five books enclosed in a sturdy group slipcase. Each book is provided with line maps and illustrations in color exhibit photography. We see no flaw in any, these items are totally sound, clean and unmarked. The slipcase, while quite strong, shows a little stress and wrinkle along two seams. A very good set.
