Sender is the son of Spanish author Ramón J. Sender and cofounder of San Francisco Tape Music Center. He was also the first resident of Lou Gottlieb's Morning Star Ranch which became a Digger Farm, and he co-produced the Trips Festival with Ken Kesey.
