Tulsa, OK: Christian Crusade, 1963-69. Six issues of the anti-communist newsletter, all with horizontal folds from mailing, two with heavily toned covers. Issues present are vol. 4 no. 5, vol. 5 nos. 16 and 26, vol. 8 no. 20, and vol. 9 nos. 27 and 48.
Cover stories include "The 'Fascist' smear line" (prefiguring contemporary complaints about being labeled as such, however the shoe may fit), "Behind the 'Peace March' in Washington," "The war against God in the churches," and more. Hargis was one of the most popular conservative preachers of his heyday, but his career ended after accusations of sexual impropriety with choir boys (and girls).
