Philadelphia: P. Blakiston's Son & Co., Inc., 1930. xvii, 823p., has a few appended illustrations of "drainage tubes" and such-like; a big (9.5x6.5 inches) reference book in green cloth gilt. Externally somewhat worn with a little fray and some staining to spine-panel cloth at the heel; book's front free endsheet and first blank are roughly torn out, leaving the fabric of front hinge exposed, though hinge continues to hold; we see one or two pencilled checkmarks in margins. An otherwise sound, clean reading / reference copy. FYI, index makes only brief referrals to cannabis, heroin, opium.
Preface describes the volume as a "text book" prepared for "the pharmacy student and the practising pharmacist.. it has not been the purpose of the authors to provide a text book on therapeutics," ergo "no attempt has been made to restrict the list of drugs on the basis of merit or repute"
