First novel by the bi-sexual Scottish avant garde filmmaker ("Borderline" which starred Paul Robeson) and husband of lesbian writer Bryher (aka Annie Winifred Ellerman) and lover of Hilda Doolittle. Together they formed The Pool Group which published the cinema film journal Close Up, produced the film "Borderline" and published several other books.
