[Two postcards depicting buildings in Dalian, with rubberstamps commemorating a US naval visit]

Dalian (Dairen): Amano Manshodo, 1917. Postcard. Two unused postcards published by a Japanese company in what was later to become part of the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo. One depicts the Dairen [Dalian] Civil Administration Office, the other depicts the local branch of the Yokohama Specie Bank. Both have a “Welcome” rubberstamp marking a September 15, 1917 port visit by the American Asiatic Fleet. Corners toned, otherwise very good.
