Mexico a Traves de los Siglos. Hoy, dos funciones; moda a las 7. Noche a las 9.45

Mexico D.F. [the company], no date. Unpaginated, about 12p., a tiny (4.5x4.5 inch) program of suite of musicales dramatizing episodes of post-conquest Mexico, with a eurocentric emphasis on the invaders and on the revolutionary period. Text entirely Spanish. A stapled item with most of its leaves detached along the spinefold, the newsprint paperstock very toned and very fragile, with chipping and missing corner-tips. As is, legible with no loss of text. A multiple-event series, Prologo, Las Naves, Cortes y sus Capitanes; El Rescate, Ballet Indio, En la Sala del Virrey, "Tiempos de Nueva Espana," La Inquisicion, Independencia, El Palenque, Los Polkos (more 'ballet'), El Jockey Club (this cataloguer is out of his depth here), El Baile del Centenario, La Revolucion, Epoca Actual, Independencia Economica (three female dancers represent La Plata, El Oro, and El Petroleo). One Roberto Soto is featured successively as Bernal Diaz del Castillo, El Virrey de Branchiforte, El Negrito Poeta, Santana, Sostenes Rocha, Pancho Villa, et alia.

We hazard the opinion that event and publication took place in the 1930s, and the format is light opera. That Sr.Soto is a tenor is simply "felt"
