n.p. [Austin Burton], 1976. 2.25 inch diameter pin, very good, depicting the two "candidates" (actually the same man in different costume).

In 1968, Life Magazine described Austin Burton as “a Republican who makes psychedelic posters in Greenwich Village.” In that year he tried but failed to declare his candidacy in the New Hampshire primaries under the name Chief Burning Wood, claiming that he was “one eighth Indian and was made a chief by three Oneida princesses on a TV show.”.
