The Testimony of the Suns, by George Sterling; Including Comments, Suggestions and Annotations by Ambrose Bierce. A Facsimile of the Original Typewritten Manuscript with the Marginal Notes by George Sterling in black ink and the Comments by Ambrose Bierce in red ink; Together with an Intoduction by Oscar Lewis, And a Memoir of Ambrose Bierce by Albert M. Bender
San Francisco: Printed for The Book Club of California by John Henry Nash, 1927. 33p., letterpress on laid-lined stock, each printblock enclosed in J.H.Nash's customary rubricated paneling; with an additional 12p of facsimiles, each mss leaf on 13x8 inch blue-tinted stock tipped on by three corners, annotations reproduced in red and black as called for. Nash has cased the textblock into 14.2x9.4 inch folio boards with swirling earth-toned paper laid down and a printed paper spine label. No.110 of 300. This copy has been handled and read, to judge by external condition: small chips at head and tail, some splitting along joints, corner-tips show a little card, label is toned. Inside, the endsheets are somewhat toned, else unblemished. Given the exterior splits and chips we must rate this fair to good only, a superior reading copy, with George's excellent keyboard skills on parade.
