Hardcover. xvi, 144p., introduction, appendix, notes, frontis-portrait, three fold-out plates in color, old original Michigan Tunnel & Mining Co. stock certificate from 1864 tipped-in at front & 1856 quartz vein mining claim tipped-in at rear, special limited edition of 47 copies out of 500 with original Gold Rush documents tipped-in printed by Grabhorn, a reprint of the original 1870 edition, very good in green paper boards with very bright and clean paper title label on spine and equally good miner vignette on paper label on front cover, untrimmed fore edge. Plain olive publisher's dj with very minor edgewear.

The added ephemera are original documents from the 1850s-1860s. The stock certificate is made out to a Capt. James Jones and dated 1864 who may have been the Indian fighter of
Camden, Wayne, Charlton, Glynn, Ware and Pierce Counties. There were 450 copies plus 3 pls copies and 47 special copies with emphemera tipped-in. Howes P-105 & Kurtz 483b.
