Hardcover. 55p (double leaves), illustrated by Mallette Dean's wood-engraved imitations of medieval vignettes, impeccably hand-illuminated in colors by Dorothy Allen; letterpress on handmade Highclere "printed damp;" dark blue chapter heads throughout, 9x5.5 inch casing with printed paper spine over marbled boards, untrimmed edges, the full monty. Limited to 160 copies, not numbered. Spine panel is slightly faded and the red-ink titling a little dim; find a disappointingly generic bookplate on the pastedown; paperstock a little toned around the deckle, a very good copy in a clear acetate wrapper (old acetate, slightly browned with a tiny closed tear, still serviceable).
