Leonard, a native of Macon & Atlanta, Georgia, was going to college at Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans when she decided to join CORE and the sit-ins. This reprints her description of one of the sit-ins. She also participated in the Freedom Rides. She was one of the only Southern white women to participate in the sit-ins.
