The communist-anarchists to the proletariat!
New York: John Mueller, [1893?]. Single sheet folded to make 4-panel brochure, creased, very brittle and browned with edge chips, minor loss of text on one corner which can be reconstructed from context. Not found in OCLC as of 1/2021.
A New York Times article on August 3, 1893 titled "An indignant anarchist: Incensed When Arrested for Distributing Bloodthirsty Pamphlets" discusses the trial of Guido Arthur Schurfig for distributing this leaflet; extensive quotes in the article confirm that Schurfig's pamphlet was a version of the same item. Most offensive to the informants who called the police was its first line, "We wage war against private property, against the state, and against the church - a war having for its object their utter annihilation."
