The Whorehouse Bells Were Ringing And Other Songs Cowboys Sing
Urbana, IL: University of Illinois Press, 1989. Hardcover. xxii, 388p., illustrated in b&w photography, many rare portrait and site images, limited examples of music notation. Hardbound in pale grey cloth boards gilt, lacks the dj and is a bit food-soiled without and within. The first thirty leaves or so are faintly damp-rippled, no mildew or discoloration. A fair copy of a very interesting text that goes beyond punching cows on the plains and in the movies (find much on Gene Autry, the "singing cowboy") but does indeed record whorehouse material (no more cows, son, we're going to go see some ladies).
