[Cambridge]: Stamperia del Cigno / Cygnet Press, 1928. unpaginated, 5.25x6.5 inches, twenty woodcuts from the 1497 edition, fine presswork on fine mouldmade paper, text in Italian, cloth-backed boards spine-titled gilt with a paper cover-label. Front board bears an inch-long scratch, signatures show gutter gaps but item even so is sound. FYI, the line-drawn cuts are of course re-cut from originals. Good to very good copy, enclosed in a small flat box to size as issued; this box is worn with marginal tears and pressure marks.
First book of the Cygnet Press, on the life of Saint Jerome; presumably reproduces a vernacular incunable.
