Memoir of Elizabeth Newport, compiled by Ann A. Townsend [second edition]
Philadelphia: Friends' Book Association, 1878. 310p., tissue-guarded engraving, a portrait frontis of the subject; maroon cloth boards with border in black & blind, spine titled gilt. Somewhat edgeworn, spine panel very faded and barely legible, a fan-shaped area on lower cover where sizing is lost. Otherwise, frontis and title a little foxed, paper mildly browned, a strong copy.
She travelled a good deal, as through southern states before the civil war; at one point she had a face to face with President Pierce (she and her party felt that his effusions were sincere).
