Personal letters from American nurses to their friends, presenting "an intimate picture of how they were received in Spain, how they live and work." - introduction. At the time of writing, six American medical teams, totalling 60 individuals, had established three hospitals and a mobile unit, and brought some 70 tons of supplies along with two dozen ambulances. The pamphlet was part of the Bureau's fundraising efforts on behalf of the Republic.
