L'Expedition Citroen Centre-Asie; 3e Mission G.-M. Haardt, L. Audouin-Dubreuil. Ses Buts, Son Itineraire, Son Materiel. L'Automobile Auxiliaire de la Science

Paris: L'Edition Artistique [pour Citroen mfrs], no date, 1930s. Pamphlet. 17p., b&w vignette photography throughout (portraits of twelve expedition members and numerous interiors of their marvelous vehicles) on alkaline coated stock, bankroller M. Citroen gets a respectful fullpage, softbound item in plain printed grey stapled wraps, 8x5 inches. Staples are rusted with thankfully little migration, covers show mild handling stains and faint attempts to lighten these, first blank bears neat ownership initials, a good to very good copy, quite sound. Note scattered embellishments: Himalayan religious imagery stuck here and there like good-luck charms. The stars of this booklet are the specially designed trucks, the jeep-like smaller vehicles, and the nifty trailers.

From p.17: "Ces voitures que l'imagination d'un Jules Verne eut seule pu concevoir, rassemblent l'equipement le plus perfectionne'.." Staffing included painter Alexandre Iacovleff and cinematographer Andre Sauvage. Not to mention geologist/paleontologist Teilhard de Chardin, see portrait, he's looking a little apprehensive.
