New York: SWP, 1968. Plain black binder with sliding metal clusures, containing photocopied internal documents intended for distribution only to members of the SWP's National Commitee; the first two pages are heavily silverfished but text intact. The documents are prefaced with cover letters explaining the circumstances of their production. They were issued between June 20 and July 31, 1968.
The documents attempt to analyze the BPP, its alliance with the Peace and Freedom Party on the 1968 presidential ticket, and whether the SWP should offer critical support to the campaign. Included are contributions from Peter Camejo, Nat Weinstein and others, as well as notes from Bay Area meetings with various members expressing their opinions. General sentiment opposed any close work with the BPP; the Peace and Freedom Party was seen as a direct rival of the SWP and the fact that the BPP worked with them irked many of those quoted here. However, others noted that the SWP had offered critical support for candidates from other parties before.
