The voice: more than a newspaper; vol. 2, #17, August 15, 1980

San Francisco: Paul D. Hardman Associates, 1980. Newspaper. 48p., tabloid newspaper, 10.5x14 inches, news, reviews, columns, events, large gay business directory at rear, photos, art, editorials, lightly-worn stapled newsprint.

The bi-weekly became "The California Voice" in the mid-1980s and included a column reporting on Dianne Feinstein's activities as mayor of SF. Mostly an entertainment paper The Voice balanced bar and bath house coverage with political columns and news relating to Gay Liberation. This issue includes an LA section with a review of Ross MacLean's "Sluts" at Deja Vu Coffeehouse (for which this bibliographer was deemed too old at 26 to play a slut so designed and built the set instead!).
