Wakefield was an Equity Draughtsman in the early years of the nineteenth century in England. He wrote anonymous pamphlets on economic subjects but also under his own name; A Letter to Thomas Paine, in reply to his "Decline and Fall of the English System of Finance," London, 1796 among other titles.
