Seattle: the Committee; mfg. by the Richmark Co. [198-]. 1.25 inch diameter pin, light wear.
In 1981 Domingo, a KDP organizer and union reform activist in ILWU Local 37, was assassinated in Seattle together with fellow union activist Gene Viernes. The Committee suspected that the two men had been targeted both for their union militancy and for their anti-Marcos activism. In 1990 the former ILWU Local 37 President, Tony Baruso was tried and convicted of organizing the assassination, allegedly at the behest of Ferdinand Marcos, who was ordered to pay the families $15 million.
