Equadare Society newsletters and releases

Mount Clemens, MI: Equadare Society, Inc. [1977/78]. Five newsletters/press releases, 8.5x11 inches and 8.5x14 inches, mostly single sheets printed both sides, one item consists of two sheets stapled top-left, some fold creases otherwise very good.

The Society was a non-profit community service organization with an out-reach program for the gay community in Michigan. It existed from about 1976-1980. One newsletter reports a victory by Anita Bryant on June 7, 1977 written by Donald Horton. The 8.5x14 inch two-sided handbill reprints a news clipping from the Macomb Daily/Associated Press of 1/26/78 about "Affluent Teens forming own branches of KKK" and goes on to decry the activities of these teens and the Klan and calls for counter-protests.
