Aden: Information Office, etc., People's Republic of Southern Yemen, 1968-1970. Five booklets and several leaflets that were mailed to the southern California librarian of the Young Workers' Liberation League in 1970 by the Information Office of the only revolutionary Marxist state on the Arabian peninsula. The booklets include "Political statement issued by National Front General Command emanating from the fourth conference together with resolutions adopted by the conference" (22p.), "Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Planning: Economic Legislations 1968" (80p.), "Why nationalization (and Law no. 37 of 1969)" (26p.), "Report to the People's Republic of Southern Yemen on guidelines for industrial planning and policy" (27p.) and "Socotra Island, First Governate" (tourism brochure). Most of these booklets have a rubberstamp of the Information Office and are otherwise very good. Also present are a mimeographed list of the leadership (all names prefaced by Brother), a two-page press release from the Ministry of Culture on July 28, 1970, a paper flag, and the music of the national anthem. These latter items have smoke stains at the edge (but no lingering odor).
