Los Angeles: Murray & Gee, 1939. Hardcover. 214p., hardbound, numerous vignette snapshot portraits in b&w scattered in text, printed on semi-coated paperstock and cased into decorated blue cloth boards. Casing is a trifle worn, spine panel faintly faded with a tiny splash line, text margins are toned throughout; a good to very good copy. The ffep bears an inscription to a well-wisher, written on behalf of the senator by an aide.
The "candid studies" are pedestrian, except for those showing Phillips, a slender handsome dude.
