San Francisco: The Stud, . Single 8.5x11 inch dark orange sheet printed in black ink on one side, handbill for the final appearance of Pearl [Heart] at The Stud in San Francisco, very good to near fine.
Janis Joplin, known as Pearl, hung out at the gay bar The Stud in SF in the mid to late 1960s occasionally singing with the band. However, this is a handbill advertising the final appearance of Pearl Heart at the venue with an illustration of the singer with microphone cord wrapped about him like a snake drawn by Bob McCormack. Pearl Heart was "rude, trashy, and much too loud' (from After Dark August 1974).
