New York: E. P. Dutton & Company, Publishers, . Mock juvenile adapted from Strewelpeter, first American edition dated from ownership legend, "Christmas 1914." Hardbound in 9.5x7 inch decorated paper over boards printed red, green and black on buff (the Kaiser as a horrid case of hydrocephalism), 20p rectos only on thick paperstock, b&w sketch illustrations throughout the doggerel text, a sound copy with just the one ownership mark, but cover is edgeworn with light handling stains to the absorbent stock, and backstrip strengthened with old red adhesive tape (skillful amateur work still holding well). A good copy.
Last page points to Zeppelin bombings of Louvain, Malines, Antwerp: "Such scenes of desolation / Due to lethal aviation"
