The San Francisco Tavern Guild Foundation presents the Beaux Arts Ball

One full-page ad announces a party featuring the notorious Divine of "Pink Flamingos" fame to raise funds opposing the Briggs Initiative; another full page is reserved for a quote from Harvey Milk comparing the Initiative's effort to eliminate gay teachers to the Nazi effort to eliminate Jewish teachers.
The Tavern Guild - San Francisco's gay bar organization - created the Ball in 1960 to raise money for its charities. Includes a brief introduction to the Guild's history.
