[New York]: New Directions, no date. Assumed first per Zempel & Verkler. 323p., frontis and three other plates on inserted coated stock, hardbound first edition openweave sand-colored cloth spine-titled in green and blue inks, in dust jacket; presswork noted as Republic of Ireland's. Cloth is faintly toned and foxed around margins and throughout spine panel, endsheets are toned (the front rather badly, from long-gone clippings), the [unclipped] jacket is heavily worn with chips and short tears. A good copy.
The dj bears on its back panel an "as we go to press" confirmation that soon ['52 or '53] Miller will be available American readers for 25 cents! --but not this book. Miller's exhilerating interests include H. Rider Haggard and Krishnamurti; always accompanied with choicest literary-insider gossiping.
