The Mexican "Amparo" as a Supplemental Remedy for the Redress of Citizen Grievances in California
Berkeley: Institute for Local Self Government, January 1967. Pamphlet. Unpaginated preliminaries, x, 32p., text reproduced from typescript; softbound pamphlet in 11x8.5 inch plain printed wraps. Item is somewhat edgeworn with faint silverfishing and ownership ink to front cover, staining and sunning to back; a 3-inch split has developed at the tail. A fair to good copy. The 'amparo' is a simple grievance mechanism, practiced in Mexico, that grants due process, does not vacate any laws, and that could be easily adopted by Hispanics in California.
