Alliance Against Women's Oppression developed out of the Third World Women's Alliance, an outgrowth of SNCC. Founded in 1980, it existed until 1990. Members went on to found the Women of Color Resource Center in San Francisco. All of these groups explored the intersectionality of race, gender, class, and sexuality.
