Slate of 14 candidates, listing their employment. For President- William R. Wadsworth; for Vice President- William Henry Talmage, etc. Robert C. Johnson, candidate for Recording Secretary, is noted as speaking and writing several languages. "Keep this ticket to vote on Wednesday, Jan. 21st." The Association was founded to foster "A generous rivalry in mental culture, by rendering it the fashion to read and converse on literary topics." Its library was combined with that of the San Francisco Mechanics' Institute in 1906, just in time to be destroyed in the earthquake and fire.
