Mary was the wife of Gaylord Wilshire, real estate investor (Wilshire Blvd. in LA is named after him) and socialist. Gaylord was responsible for converting Sinclair to socialism and a life long friend of his. Logan was the son of Mary & Gaylord Wilshire. His bookplate shows an open book as escutcheon, bearing the names of Plato, Aristotle, Baron Kant, Nietzsche.
