San Francisco; Los Angeles: [Tom Mooney Molders' Defense Committee], . 4-panel, 3.5x8 inch leaflets printed to resemble a court summons, instructing the reader to attend a meetings demanding a pardon for Mooney at San Francisco Civic Center on November 6. Very good. Rubberstamp on back panel announces that the author Theodore Dreiser will appear in person.
Promises an appearance by Paul Callicotte, who had issued a stunning confession that he had actually planted the bomb for which Mooney had been imprisoned. Though Mooney did not trust him, members of his defense team did, and briefly took him on a tour where he was cross-examined before large audiences. In late December, the United Press reported that the confession had definitively been proven false. Curt Gentry, in his book "Frame-up," discusses this attention-seeker on pages 448-449.
