[Bronx, NY]: the Committee, [193-]. Three mimeographed handbills, two 8.5x11 and one 8.5x5.5 inches; mild wear and creasing.
The first handbill announces a strike to be held on campus to coincide with the national ASU event (held on April 22 each year). States that "the administration has tried to frighten the students into submission" but that public figures and many parents were in support so the event would go ahead. The next item, titled "Strike off!" announces that the administration had backed down and allowed the organization to hold a rally in the auditorium, making the strike unnecessary. The last item, titled "Victory!" sums up the efforts of the ASU and its success in getting the school administration to permit the campus event; notes that the group holds weekly meetings above the Burke Theater on White Plains Road and invites the reader to attend.
