This World Surrealist Exhibition, which opened on May 1, was the first in the US organized by young Surrealists, who were outside of the established art world. It featured over 600 pieces and over one hundred artists from all over the world. They were associated with Chicago SDS, who printed a number of their writings. Young Surrealists also edited an issue of SDS's Radical America.
