From the collection of a CORE lawyer who was assigned to Mississippi during Freedom Summer, this handout offers basic information on how to file a complaint under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, dealing with nondiscrimination in programs and services that receive federal financial assistance. Founded in 1963, the Law Students Civil Rights Council was the first inter-racial organization of law students and was one of the groups that provided volunteer lawyers to the Council of Federated Organizations during Freedom Summer.
