Leaflet calls for demonstration of 10,000 women at City Hall to protest WPA worker layoffs which will effect them and their families. "We appeal to you: Women of New York . . . .Whether you are a WPA worker yourself, whether you are on home relief, or whether you are a housewife or business woman, to use your efforts to defeat the WPA dismissals." The Workers Alliance formed in 1935 with a merger of predominantly socialist and communist-led unemployment councils.
