Published in the fall 1946 as part of organizing drive for mainly female clerks at Hastings and Kahn's Department Stores in Oakland. Argues that wages do not even cover cost of living. Union members struck for the right to organize after a employee was fired for union activity. This labor action precipitated the Oakland General Strike that December.
